Contrary to PCP-DCA claims, PCP-Fixed (Fixed rate of commission) claims are not bound to the period between 2007-2021. Furthermore, the core legal basis surrounding these claims is distinct. Whilst these claims did not involve a DCA, there is much proof that lenders are responsible for a lack of transparency regarding commission disclosure affecting millions of car finance agreements. In the August 2025 Supreme Court hearing, the landmark decision in the case of Johnson v FirstRand Bank has proven that there is a route to compensation where it is proven that lenders have been negligent and unfair when disclosing commission in car finance sales.
